A Happy Thanksgiving Message

In Who is Doug? by Doug Phelps

Happy Friday and day after Thanksgiving! I sincerely hope you and your loved ones had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday, and perhaps still celebrating today.  I have so much to be thankful for, this year and every year including all the new clients and friends I have met this year and have the privilege of helping them in their home buying or selling journey.  I am also thankful I was able to help those in need.  The last few years have been challenging for some of us, and if that’s you, I hope you can still find something to be thankful for today.  Whether you’re resting with family in front of the TV, black Friday shopping or even working today, I hope you’re having a great day! Are you curious about what others are doing today?  Here’s what I’ve done on some years, the day after Thanksgiving:

Enjoying leftovers

Thanksgiving food is sometimes even better warmed-up the next day! And in my own personal experience, enjoying leftovers is even better when you’re resting in a comfortable house and watching your favorite movies or TV shows, maybe with friends and family.  After Thanksgiving, many people are thankful that they don’t have to cook because of the leftovers they have which allows them to take a break for at least a few days.  However, some people enjoy reinventing leftovers and exploring recipes with the large amount of turkey leftovers.  Turkey tacos, anyone?

Working

Yes, some of us may be working today and that’s not all bad.  Often, many people are still off from work today so the office may be quieter and it allows to catch up on a backlog of work you may not otherwise have.  If your workplace is busier after the holidays, like in retail for example, then at least you know your presence at work is valued and needed.

Exercising

Some people, especially in a super fit state like Colorado, may be putting in extra miles or reps today in the gym to make up for eating so much on Thanksgiving.  If you’re not up for a full workout, it might be a good idea to leash the dog up and walk around the block to get some movement in today.  Of course, no movement is OK too!

Black Friday Shopping

While the last few years have encouraged people to stay home and shop online, some of us still like to go pick out things in person.  For some families, black Friday shopping is a tradition and if that’s what you like to do then enjoy it!

No matter what you do today, or how you like to celebrate the holidays, I am thankful for your readership and your friendship! Happy Thanksgiving from me to you.
